Overview

School Bells, Inc, a 501(c) 3 non-profit humanitarian organization was founded in 2003 with the mission to serve and provide essential life skills, educational support, economic growth, and health services for underserved communities. School Bells accomplishes these goals through a variety of programs geared toward uplifting communities. School Bells, Inc. is dedicated to providing educational and medical services to Belize and her many villages.

Medical professionals-- which include Dentists, Pediatricians, General Practitioners, Pharmacists and Nurses-- travel from village to village providing much needed medical and dental services. School Bells medical team gives healthcare services to an average of 200 patients a day.

Mrs. Yvonne Bridges, the President of School Bells began the  impact on the villages starting with the overwhelming medical and dental problems among children. In addition, many adults suffer from red eyes and are in need of cataract surgery and the number of cases of diabetes is high and increasing.
Cancer and HIV are are among the top killers with almost no treatment in the country. Other health complaints include malnutrition, hypertension and skin problems. Mrs. Bridges  had this to say about the organization's impact:
"The whole mission is to help Belizeans in the rural areas but we also help school children in Belize City that we believe could use our support. The medical team travels back and forth every year. The schools and health centers send us the information on what is needed in the way of medical supplies and we provide the support".

There are after-school programs in Belize City to motivate children and build their self-esteem, which as a result, keeps them out of the streets and out of trouble. However, that is for those children whose parents can afford it.

Volunteers are needed to help make a difference in these families' lives.
