School Bells, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit humanitarian organization was founded in 2003 with the mission to serve and provide essential life skills, educational support, economic growth, and health services for underserved communities. School Bells accomplishes these goals through a variety of programs geared toward uplifting communities of the culturally diverse country of Belize, C.A., as well as here in the United States. School Bells is currently responsible for over 150 children kindergarten-12th grade receiving an education.

There are still hundreds of other children that want the opportunity to attend school, but whose families lack the funds to send them. As a result, most children only receive up to an elementary school education causing them to live a life of poverty and underpaid work while others turn to begging, crime, unwanted pregnancies and worse. With your help, children that once had no access to learning tools, an education or medicine will have one of the some of the greatest learning tools they can use - interaction.

School Bells, Inc. started a sponsorship program that was created to assist needy students with basic funds for school via donations. As low as $40 per sponsor can assist a child in getting an education. School Bells, Inc. is currently responsible for over 150 children in kindergarten through 12th grade receiving an education. Why School Bells Exists

In 1998 during a trip to Belize Central America, I was invited to visit a few of the villages' schools. To my dismay I found that academic materials and basic school supplies were completely scarce. Despite its’ unique educational system, most schools lacked libraries and computers to meet the needs of today’s educational standards. Upon my return to the United States, images of the less fortunate schools replayed throughout my thoughts raising the question:

"What could I do about it?"

From this question, School Bells was created.

Our Policy

Founder, Yvonne Bridges was moved by the many Belize schools and students who still today lack the necessary basic school supplies, library books, and other basic teaching equipment. There are children with worms and skin disease, who are malnourished. Children are going to school without a breakfast or lunch. Many adults and children have significant tooth decay. School Bells, Inc. is committed in helping these families and children in education and health. The organization is set up to function with volunteers, donations, fund-raiser, supporters, and partners. The funds will not be diverted into administration salaries. All funds will benefit those who we serve through the School Bells, Inc. projects. Our goal is to bring positive changes to impoverished families through our educational and healthcare programs. Volunteers and funds are always needed.

Volunteer Internships Available
Do you need College Credit?

This is your opportunity to volunteer your services. When you render your services with this program, you are able to exchange this experience for college credits and resume experience. Since we specialize in many kinds of internships, we thus also provide the help needed to maintain our projects. The technical and life skills volunteered will be invaluable to School Bells. Marketing, Grant Writing, Networking, Administrative, Fundraising, Public Relations and Recruiting are all available programs of varied fields that interns can influence. These will feed such projects as The WEE GROW Project, International Design projects, Advertisements and Children's Books.

As you choose a field, you should be able to work with and around the impoverished, develop great communication skills and have the initiatives to create and develop new ideas. The Interns will be assigned to a School Bells Member. The intern will then correspond with the assigned instructor at least three times prior to submitting the final proposal plan for an effective critique.   Contact Us...

Thank You

We would like to say thank you to all of our past, present and future donors and volunteers who have helped us make School Bells a success. Because without you, so many children would continue to go without vital educational and medical services they need.
